Travel Preparations
Brazil maintains diplomatic ties with
the majority of countries. Still, before travelling it is recommended
that tourists visit the web page of the Federal Police Department
(www.dpf.gov.br) to check all the information and prerequisites
for obtaining entry visas. Tourists arriving from Mercosur member
countries can travel within Brazil using their photo I.D. card
alone.
The National Health Advisory Agency (Anvisa) does not recommend
any vaccinations for those visiting the state of Rio de Janeiro.
It only recommends yellow fever vaccination for those intending
to travel to Acre, Amazonas, Amapá, Macapá, Roraima,
Rondônia, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Pará,
Maranhão, Tocantins, Piauí, Bahia, Minas Gerais,
Espírito Santo, São Paulo, Santa Catarina, Rio
Grande do Sul, Goiás and Distrito Federal.
