Costa do Sol, sports and partying year round
The name is suggestive of and faithfully
reflects one of the main characteristics that make this region
so pleasant and unique. Its dazzling sun, in alliance with strong,
constant winds allows one to enjoy its attractions practically
the whole year round, including the practice of aquatic sports:
sailing, surfing, windsurfing and many others.
You can also choose between getting your exercise in the ocean
or in Araruama, Maricá, Saquarema and Juturnaíba
lakes. These places make Costa do Sol (The Sun Coast) also well
known as the Região dos Lagos (The Lakes Region) and
compose breathtaking views at both sunrise and sunset.
The cities of Armação de Búzios and Cabo
Frio, the main tourist hot spots, offer a large number of beaches,
able to satisfy the widest variety of interests: with calm waters
or open ocean waves, practically deserted, or populated by beach
bars, bars and restaurants.
The nightlife in these cities is recognized as one of the hottest
in all of Rio de Janeiro. International quality restaurants,
clubs and bars full of lively, beautiful people are their trademark.
Rua das Pedras and Praça Santos Dumont, in Búzios
and Rua dos Biquínis, the Canal and Praia do Forte, in
Cabo Frio are attractions in themselves, with their countless
shops, boutiques and traditional crafts fairs
